Hardness | Tools made from tool steel exhibit sufficient hardness after heat treatment. For tools used in custom metal cutting processes, the hardness is typically above HRC60. Even under high-temperature conditions generated by high cutting speeds and processing hard materials, tool steel maintains high hardness and good red hardness. Carbon tool steel and alloy tool steel can maintain high hardness at working temperatures of approximately 180°C to 250°C, while high-speed tool steel can retain high hardness at around 600°C.
