Plastic Engine Housing 2

Engine plastic casing is manufactured using high-quality engineering plastics, providing a lightweight and durable solution with excellent insulation and soundproofing properties. It effectively protects engine internals from external influences, reduces weight and frictional losses, improves fuel efficiency, and delivers efficient and reliable power support for automobiles.

What Materials Are Commonly Used for Engine Plastic Casing?

Engine plastic casing is typically made from high-quality engineering plastics such as Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyamide (PA), and Polyimide (PI). These engineering CNC machining plastics exhibit excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, strength, and toughness, making them suitable for safeguarding engine internals in high-temperature, high-pressure, and harsh environments. Selecting appropriate materials ensures that the engine casing meets required performance and reliability standards.

Engine Plastic Casing Manufacturing Process

Material Preparation and Mixing

Step 1: Material Preparation and Mixing

Start by preparing the required plastic materials, selecting suitable engineering plastics based on product requirements, such as Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS), Polycarbonate (PC), etc. Then, mix the plastic materials in specific proportions to ensure desired performance and characteristics.

Injection Molding

Step 2: Injection Molding

Place the mixed plastic material into the injection molding machine, where it is heated and melted. High-pressure injection injects the molten plastic material into the mold. The mold's design determines the final shape. After cooling and solidifying, the initial form of the engine plastic casing is obtained.

Post-Processing

Step 3: Post-Processing

Remove the initial molded engine plastic casing and proceed with post-processing. This involves removing potential burrs, cutting excess material, and refining and polishing the casing to meet product design and precision requirements.

Quality Inspection and Packaging

Step 4: Quality Inspection and Packaging

Conduct quality inspections on the processed engine plastic casing, including checking dimensions, surface quality, strength, etc., to ensure compliance with standards. Finally, package the qualified engine plastic casing to protect it during transportation and storage before delivering it to customers.
